Home-Start Merton has been providing volunteer led family support in Merton since 1993. YOU could help us to ensure our work continues and grows in the future by including us in your will.

Questions you may have.

Q. What will it cost me?
A. There is no additional cost if you are simply revising your will. When you are next updating your will, ask your solicitor to include a donation to your chosen charity.

Q. Do I need to tell Home-Start Merton that I've included them in my will?
A. There is no requirement to do so, but we would be delighted if you chose to tell us This can be done by simply telephoning us or if you prefer you could write to us.
Any information that you give will be treated in the strictest confidence.

Q. Are there any tax advantages of leaving money to charity?
A. Donations to charity are exempt from tax, so any donation you leave to Home-Start Merton will be free of Inheritance Tax, and we will receive the full amount.
Your solicitor will be able to advise you on the options open to you to use your will to reduce tax.

Q. Should I tell my family?
A. We would recommend that you discuss this with your family so that they are aware of and understand your wishes.

Q. I want to leave a legacy to Home-Start Merton - what should I do next?
A. Tell your solicitor that you wish to include Home-Start Merton in your will, what you wish to leave and they will make the necessary changes/additions to your will. You can find our details on the contact page, and please remember to give them our Registered Charity Number.
